2014 has started with a pretty strong fashion statement, evidently on the red carpet for the Golden Globes. I have chosen a few of my favourite looks where the outfits speak for themselves. The majority of the looks were simply accessorised including hair and make-up allowing the works of art to shine and represent.
Here are some of my favourites…
Besides the fact that Sophia Vergara is drop dead gorgeous, she looks absolutely stunning in this perfectly fit Zac Posen gown. The statement necklace, simple hair and make-up let the outfit speak for itself.
I am not usually a fan of pink, but this Carolina Herrera dress has made me rethink my preferences once again. The bustier top, tight on the breasts and stomach and the flow that starts from the upper hips and gradually flows with a trail is absolutely gorgeous.
Sarah Paulson – Marchesa
The most thing I liked about this dress was the length. It is very rare to be able to find a dress that is ankle length that looks flattering without jeopardising the whole look, but Sarah Paulson has nailed it. The simple make-up, hair, accessories and strap sandals have allowed room for the dress to speak for itself.
Emma Roberts – Lanvin
The mermaid cut is always a risk, but Emma Roberts has pulled it off gracefully in Lanvin. The dip cut in between the breasts and the slightly dropped shoulders give just the right amount of flesh exposure.
I saved my best for last. At first sight I felt this dress was a bit too closed up and conservative, but the more I looked at it the more I saw the beauty of detail and grace in this design. This has to be on the top of my list for the Golden Globes this year. It is absolutely flawless from every aspect. The high neck with the lace detailing matched up with simple drop earrings is absolute perfection.
