Tops for the night

I find myself always having such a hard time finding the perfect top to wear for a night out. Shoes, clutch and bottoms are always so easy to decide on, but the top is what I change on average 3 times before I am set to go.

I have compiled 5 different top styles that I feel are the perfect wear for any night out depending on your choice of bottoms. I almost always dress from the bottom up rather than vice versa; I personally find it much easier.

This Dolce & Gabbana jacquard top is one to be worn for a rather fine “wine and dine” night out. The hip hugging cut and tight bust would match perfectly with a pair of tight leather pants or skinny jeans if you want to dress it down a bit. Match it up with a pair of studded earrings and over sized gold cuff and you are set to go. With a top like this, let is speak for itself.

When choosing a rather looser top for the night, I would suggest going for a tighter bottom. Since this top is colorful and vibrant i would settle for a solid color bottom. A pair of white or black shorts, or even some dark blue fitted jeans would seal the deal.

My #1 rule; when wearing a crop top always pair it up with high-waist bottoms. The most thing I find least appealing is too much skin, it removes all the elegance from a potentially beautiful outfit. This stretch lace bustier would look perfect with a hight-waist pencil skirt either black or salmon coloured and a pair of nude pumps. Since the neck line is a low V I would suggest pairing this top up with a statement necklace.

This is by far my favorite look. A simple leather strap top with a pair of ripped black jeans and sexy pumps are my way to go. Simple make up and bright red lipstick will speak for itself. Accessorise as desired, when going all black there are no rules for accessory tones and colors.

For a more conservative night out aim for a funky collared shirt (i emphasis funky, you do not want to risk looking too corporate). With shirts I like to always go for a pair of jeans rather than dress pants; you would not want to look like you came straight from the office. Go for a pair of dark colored jeans, avoid light colors during the night they are too casual. Paired up with a colourful beaded clutch and chunky cuff and statement earrings and you are set to go. This is the perfect look for an early dinner followed by drinks.
