Dori and Alia Mouzannar in Dubai

What a great end to my week – I was invited for the viewing of Alia and Dori Mouzannar’s jewelry trunk show collection that was held in Dubai for 3 days only. I had the chance to personally chat with the overly friendly cousins behind these amazing designs.

The event took place at Comptoir 102 in Jumeirah; one of the cutest concept stores I have been to in a while. The store also has a cafe that offers organic food ranging from salads, juices, sandwiches; gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free options to pick from! Just my kind of place!

Cousins, Dori and Alia Mouzannar descend from a family of professional and international jewellers; the children of Walid and Aziz Mouzannar. Dori joined the family business in 1991; followed by Alia in 2003.

The young partnership consists of jewelry that is very modern yet traditional. Inspired by contemporary art, many of the pieces consisted of vibrant colored stones that introduce a sense of free spirit and freshness to the collection. Statement rings and earrings; very simple yet eye catching pieces such as small pendants and simple finger rings were also some of my favorite pieces.

All pieces are one of kind, each item is made with a beautifully matching stone. When I asked if they do custom made the answer was “We are the ones that do custom made!”

All the collections were easily recognisable having a strong brand identity; you can directly tell they belonged to the same family of artists and craftsmen.

Definitely on top of my jewelry list this year! And if you live in Dubai or you are planning on visiting soon; drop by Comptoir 102: – A definite must visit!
