How to pull off your summer whites

What better way to strut your sun kissed tan than with a full on white summer dress. Just like the craze of winter whites, we cannot deny the popularity of white summer dresses this SS15.

Although a white outfit seems rather easy to dress, there are certain points you need to take into consideration when opting for a white dress. The problem with this trend is if you do not accessorise properly you could risk looking a bit dressed down.

This is how I have styled each look:

Outfit 1 –

Since it is a maxi dress I suggest you pair it up with colourful flats and a long simple necklace since there is a low neckline. When wearing a maxi dress or skirt almost always try to put on flat shoes as to avoid having the dress or skirt look too short. For some added sass I would recommend a bold coloured lipstick and pulled up hair; possibly in a messy bun.

Outfit 2 –

This specific dress can be worn both during the day and night, depending on the occasion. The cut of the dress is rather puffy from the bottom and for that I would suggest you pair it with some heels for some extra height. The bunny rabbit headpiece gives the total look exactly what it needs; a bit of playfulness making the look a little less formal.

Outfit 3 –

This is very much a night outfit. A-line dresses are usually mostly associated with dresses that are a bit dressy and are to be worn for an occasion at night. For that reason I would suggest you pair it up with statement shoes that are colourful and bold, or a clutch that stands out simply because with a white dress at night you would want to avoid looking too monotone in terms of colour.

Outfit 4-

Shirt dresses are always to be worn during the day. This year the oversized shirt dress is one of the biggest trends. I would suggest you either wear it with a thick belt and a pair of day heels; or leave it loose and pair it up with gladiator sandals; another strong trend this summer. For a white shirt dress I would recommend you opt for a pair of statement coloured sunglasses to add just that bit of extra glam that your look will need.
